State Champions
The Mallard Creek Women’s Basketball team made history this season, capturing the 8A State Championship, marking the first state title in program history. This remarkable achievement is a testament to the team’s hard work, resilience, and unwavering commitment throughout the season. More than just a championship run, this journey was played with purpose and heart, as the team dedicated the season to the memory of beloved coach Clarence “CJ” Johnson. His legacy, leadership, and impact were felt every step of the way, inspiring this group to achieve something truly special. This championship will forever be a defining moment for Mallard Creek and a tribute to Coach CJ’s lasting influence. Congratulations to both teams!
Indoor Track State Champions
Mallard Creek has swept the NCHSAA indoor track state championships, with the boys team winning their second title and the girls team securing their first. The Boys MVP title went to Enloe's Alexander Chapman-Evans who's a remarkable performer who finished in the top three in three different events, showcasing their versatility and determination. Meanwhile, the Girls MVP award was claimed by Pinecrest's Alessia Potts, who not only dominated the competition by winning both the 1,000-meter and 1,600-meter races but also stood out as the only double winner of the day. Congratulations to both teams!

The 2026 Mallard Creek men’s wrestling team achieved an impressive 20-3 record, clinching the MEC Power 6 Conference Championship. They produced four state qualifiers and celebrated three state medalists, showcasing their exceptional talent and hard work.
Meanwhile, the Mallard Creek women’s wrestling team had a stellar season as well, securing the MEC Power 6 Championship and finishing as the 8A West Region runners-up. Their efforts resulted in seven state qualifiers and an impressive three state medalists. Together, both teams demonstrated dedication and skill, making Mallard Creek a powerhouse in wrestling!

Their hard work and dedication paid off as they celebrated an impressive finish among some of the best teams in the state.
